ANZAC Day Parade 2015

On Friday afternoon 24th April, Ms Ruth and Year 5/6 hosted a moving ANZAC day ceremony. Mr Ron Philp from Mareeba RSL was our guest speaker and he spoke about the special World War 1 soldier badges to be worn at the Mareeba Anzac Day ceremony. Year 5/6 performed a song dedicated to ANZAC day. Each class made a wreath and they were placed under our flag pole. The Prep students placed individual hand made poppies. On Saturday morning 27 of our students proudly walked behind the Biboohra State School banner in the Mareeba ANZAC day parade. Each student, who was wearing a special badge were then called up to place a poppy at Cenotaph. Bree Hughes represented our school reading the resolution. Hayley Carlsson and Liley Gibb placed our tribute to the ANZACS. Thank you to everyone that came to our ceremony on Friday and also the families that attended the ANZAC day parade on Saturday.
